Privacy policy

Last updated 22 October 2026

This policy explains what information is collected when you use calorieintakecalculator.com (“the website”, “we”, “us”), how it is used and the choices you have. We have written it to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

  • Everything you type into a calculator (age, height, weight and so on) is processed in your browser. It is not sent to us or stored on our servers.
  • We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name or email to use the tools.
  • We collect limited technical data, such as pages visited and device type, to keep the site working and understand how it is used.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Information you enter into calculators

Calculator inputs, including health-related figures such as weight, height, body fat and activity, are handled entirely by code running on your device. They are not transmitted to us. The only thing we store on your device is your preferred unit system (metric or US) so the site remembers it next time. You can clear it by clearing your browser’s site data.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and security providers process standard log data when you visit, including IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and the date and time. This is used to deliver pages, protect the site from abuse and fix errors.

We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand which pages are useful. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies and collect information like approximate location (country or city), device and browser, and how you move between pages. IP addresses are truncated or anonymised where the tool allows it.

Advertising

To keep the tools free, we may show advertising, including through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings or aboutads.info. Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area and the UK, we ask for your consent before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used.

Advertisers never receive the values you enter into our calculators.

Information you send us

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use this only to reply and to keep a record of the conversation, and we keep it for no longer than needed, normally up to 24 months.

Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests to operate and secure the website and to answer messages, and on consent for non-essential cookies, analytics and personalised advertising.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run the website, such as hosting, content delivery, security, analytics and advertising partners, and only as needed for those services. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except as described in the advertising section, which you can opt out of.

International transfers

The website is operated from India and our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. This includes rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, Canada’s PIPEDA and Australia’s Privacy Act. California residents may ask what categories of data we collect and request deletion, and will not be treated differently for doing so.

Because calculator inputs never reach us, we usually hold very little that identifies you. To make a request or raise a grievance, please use our contact page and put “Privacy” in the subject line. We acknowledge requests within 72 hours and respond within the time the law requires. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The website is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please reach us through our contact page so we can delete it.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we handle.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
