What we do
Calorie Intake Calculator is a set of free tools that help adults estimate how much to eat. You can find your daily calories, maintenance level, macros, protein needs, BMI and the energy cost of exercise, in kilograms or pounds, from anywhere in the world.
We built it because most calorie calculators online are cluttered, ask for an email address before showing a result, or give a number with no explanation. We wanted the opposite: a clear answer straight away, the reasoning behind it, and honest notes about its limits.
Our principles
- Evidence first. Every calculator uses published, peer-reviewed equations. Our methodology page lists each one and its source.
- Private by design. Calculations run in your browser. We do not ask for your name, email or account, and we do not store what you type.
- Safe defaults. We do not show weight-loss targets below commonly recommended minimums, and we flag goals that are faster than about 1% of body weight a week.
- Plain language. We explain terms like BMR and TDEE without jargon, and we say clearly when you should speak to a professional instead.
- Built for everyone. Metric and US units, readable on any phone, and usable with a keyboard or screen reader.
How content is reviewed
Formulas and guides are checked against their original sources and reviewed whenever guidance changes. Each page shows when it was last updated. If you spot an error, please tell us through our contact page. We correct mistakes quickly and note significant changes.
What we are not
We are not a medical service, and our tools do not replace advice from a doctor or registered dietitian. Please read our medical disclaimer.
